Trauma-Sensitive Practice
What is Trauma-Sensitive Practice?
Trauma-sensitive work emphasizes safety, pacing, and consent. Every step in the process is guided by each client's readiness both in mind and body—not external pressure. Using Somatic Experiencing® and gentle awareness, the work restores a sense of agency and connection without retraumatization. All sessions are designed to feel collaborative and choice-based.
Gina's Approach to Trauma-Sensitive Practice
As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), Gina's entire practice is fundamentally trauma-sensitive. A primary focus of her career has been supporting clients working through trauma, anxiety, and relationship violence.
She has provided individual treatment for trauma in clinical settings and is skilled in working with the dysregulated nervous systems that often result from traumatic experiences.
Her approach is supported by direct, specialized training in:
-
Somatic Experiencing (a 3-year trauma-focused certification)
-
An SE Perspective on Systemic Trauma and Shame
-
Healing & Treating Trauma, Addictions, & Related Disorders
-
Somatic Consent Workshop
-
Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Gabor Mate
This background allows Gina to create a safe, collaborative, and non-retraumatizing space, ensuring that healing is always guided by your pace and consent.
