PDA-Informed Support
What is PDA-Informed Support?
Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is often misunderstood. This work focuses on creating safety and connection through collaboration rather than compliance. It explores how the body responds to perceived pressure and how nervous system regulation can make daily life more manageable. This approach supports both individuals with PDA profiles and their caregivers.

Gina's Approach to PDA-Informed Support
Gina’s practice is fundamentally PDA-informed, viewing autonomy and trust as essential for safety. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, she uses body-based techniques to help clients build nervous system capacity, which is key to managing the overwhelming threat response associated with PDA.
Her approach is built on collaboration, not compliance, and is deeply informed by specialized training in:
-
Somatic Consent: This training is central to her low-demand method, ensuring that sessions are paced by the client and grounded in authentic choice.
-
Autism Aide Training: Provides a foundation for understanding neurodivergent experiences.
-
Compassionate Inquiry: Helps explore the roots of distress without judgment.

Gina is skilled in working flexibly and sensitively, co-creating a space where clients can explore their needs, build trust in their own bodies, and find more manageable ways to navigate daily life.
