Domestic Violence
What is Domestic Violence?
Domestic violence is any abusive behaviour in the home this includes physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. Domestic violence can affect people of any race, gender, sexuality, income level, or education level.
Relevant Experience
I created and ran a domestic violence prevention program in 2016-17 which provided one-on-one counselling to individuals age 16 and older who had experienced domestic violence as the person who has been violent the target of the violence, or witness to the violence. Prior to that, I have also worked with both youth and adults who have been in violent situations both in the home and in the community.
